If you don't already know, FLSK has been made temporarily unavailable to buy, as Steve's grabbed a fantastic opportunity to have it re-released into the public sector, with some minor tweaks here and there. Steve conducted a short Q&A e-session with Allan Guthrie, one of Edinburgh's hottest properties on the crime writing scene (no credit crunch here!). Allan's novels are published by Polygon. The Edinburgh Book Festival 2007 is kicking off on the 11th August to the 27th, and Steven would like proudly to announce that his book, Things From The Past, will be available to buy there, alongside titles by fellow writers Garry Charles and Steve Dean. This annual gathering of literature treats has attracted many big names in its 24 year history, and the audience numbers grow with each year as the tents set up in Edinburgh's Charlotte Square. Also, Welsh-based website ‘Screaming Dreams’ will be producing a spectacular eZine in the next few weeks that features info from September’s FantasyCon event, which was held in Nottingham.  Hadesgate Publications attended in full, as well as a whole host of other small press publishers and well-known names of the horror/dark fantasy genre.  This exclusive edition (a special one-off print echoing the site’s main Estronomicon eZine) has stunning work from related authors, as well as excerpts from Steven’s Things From The Past and other details.

Steven's latest story, 'A Taxing Journey To Hell', has won first prize over at new horror site www.spinetinglers.co.uk.

The site, launched early June, is dedicated to publishing new horror writers, and Steven's proud that they've chosen his story as their first competition win.

Hadesgate Publications has announced Steven as their 3rd signing on their forums site at www.hadesgateforums.co.uk.

Everyone there is pleased to have Steven on board and he's really looking forward to working with them soon enough. Preparations for the first draft submission have already begun and it won't be long until Things From The Past hits the bookshelves.

In the meantime, the newly released Terror Tales #3 edited by Paul Kane and John B. Ford is available at www.rainfallsite.com/RainfallBooks.html. Featuring a cracking line-up of some of the best horror writers today (Peter Straub and Simon Clark, to name but a few!) this is a must-have anthology for fans of this genre! As the publication date for Things From The Past -- Steven's second book -- draws to a close (September 2006), Steve wishes to share a bit of the magic he's been consistently weaving throughout its pages! Forwarded is a message from artist Ian Simmons, who is providing the exceptional pictures for the book:

"Steven first contacted me through a mutual friend - author Paul Kane - and after several emails asked if I would like to contribute illustrations for his next book, 'Things From The Past'. After reading the first story, 'The Last Drive', I enthusiastically agreed to provided several internal illustrations. As the project progressed I suggested also illustrating the book cover.

I get a lot of approaches for projects like this and don't always want to be associated with them, however, Steve's descriptive and evocative writing style made it easy for me to come up with images for the stories. The only problem was deciding which passages to illustrate, as each chapter sparked several striking ideas. This is not always the case and it certainly made my job a hell of a lot easier - Steve has a writing style that almost forces images into your head, and he also understands how to pace a story so the reader is never bored."

Steve is very pleased with Ian's approach to the book, and is delighted he's on-board with the project. Ian and his spectacular work can be found online at www.dragonart.org.uk.

The annual Dead By Dawn horror event in Edinburgh commences this April 20 th (for four days only) with a whole host of startling names in the industry attending. This festival is an astonishing mark on the horror scene (and has been for many years), as it brings together many of its mediums in four separate outings. Steven is currently involved with writing his second book, which has a working title of Things From The Past. This unique offering sees the full-length version of The Last Drive (a promising, imaginative story started in A Dead Calmness ) which, he claims, is perhaps the best he's ever written. Included also in this book are two brand new stories that have been in the making since mid-2005.

Steven's also let loose some very exciting information about this book; he's been in touch with a talented, respected artist who's promised to provide him with sensational artwork for it (though he won't say whom just yet!).

Steven thanks everyone who's supported him this far, and he hopes you will all stay with him for awhile longer.
